DUNLIN NEARCTIC RACES Calidris alpina

Nearctic races of Dunlin are often brighter, with longer bills, the race most likely to reach the UK, hudsonia breeds in Eastern Canada and migrates south, the centre bird. There is also overlap in range between the eastern Asian races and Alaskan birds, so whilst a split isn't impossible it will need a lot of research and possibly the loss of some races. Other birds illustrated here are kistchinski and sakhalina.
