RING-BILLED GULL Larus delawarensis

Another common North American species which occurs regularly in Britain, and widespread in the USA. Strangely, the first British record was in 1971, but several birds now return annually to favoured wintering sites. Could some of the first winters originate from this side of the Atlantic?
