COMMON GULL Larus canus

Widespread across the Northern Hemisphere but rarely common in the way some other species are. In the states it is known as Mew Gull, both that and Kamchatka Gull have been mooted as seperate species, as has the northern asian race heneii. That viewpoint seems to be out of favour currently, but who knows?
