GALAPAGOS PETREL Pterodroma phaeopygia

Endemic to the Galapagos Islands, where it is listed as critically endangered. Formerly part of sandvichensis, Hawaiian Petrel, which is similar in appearence. The two don't overlap much in ranges, and the present taxa is probably easier to see away from its natal islands since it disperses towards the coast of Central America and the northern Humboldt, coming closer to shore in those areas. Even so it is difficult to photograph since close approach is difficult, the best of these record shots were taken off Costa Rica.
