Again a fairly common species, usually seen inshore, also happy to approach vessels, indeed often seen in the company of the previous species. Again ranging widely across most of the Pacific, and also the Indian Ocean, breeding staions are islands around Australia and New Zealand, plus St.Paul in the Indian Ocean. Can be confused with a number of all-dark species since the legs are frequently not visible.
