Clark's Grebes seem to be less abundant than Western, the migrating flock at sea (right) only contained a few Clarks. Birds are best
told apart by the surround to the eye and the bills, orange-yellow in Clark's, yellow in Western. A breeding Clark's usually shows an isolated eye in a white "face" but non-breeding
birds (left) can have the black crown descending to above the eye, the bill is usually much more clearly orangey at this time..
