Another group with varying taxonomic views, the most usual treatment seems to be three species of which this and the next are two races of Shy. As the name suggests this race breeds on islands in the Bass Strait, although not actually on Tasmania. The only constant differences are in adult bill colour, although this is largely speculative, the assignment of these photos to either race is purely guesswork really. |
