The New Zealand form of Shy Albatross, breeding on several Subantarctic islands, with one pair on Fourty-Fours in the Chathams. It tends to breed later than Shy, but this may be due simply to latitude of the breeding islands. If all four forms are regarded as one species, the photo with a Chatham Albatross shows the two extremes of a cline, but they look quite different to me. |
