HUDSONIAN WHIMBREL Numenius hudsonicus

The Nearctic equivalent of the widespread and familiar Whimbrel, this has been split from the nominate race by some authorities, and lumped, and then split again . Presumably the species would also include variegatus from Eastern Russia, which is similar in its lack of white rump and also fully-barred underwing. I think it's a good species, as does the IOC currently.
