EURASIAN CURLEW Numenius arquata

Breeding across most of northern Europe and Asia, this is the species familiar in Britain, where its numbers are falling due to habitat loss. The right-hand bird is the infamous "Minsmere Slender-billed Curlew" Although the bill is short it is too deep, and the legs aren't black.
