AFRICAN BLACK DUCK Anas sparsa

Quite widespread in south and east Africa, with a second race in parts of West Africa, this bird frequents streams and rivers in well-wooded hilly country, and is everywhere local. As such it is rarely seen, mainly in pairs. The birds with the Blue-billed Teals were taken in Namibia, other shots are in captivity.
