The previously mentioned split from Common Snipe, found over much of the USA and undergoing migratory movements south. Seemingly somewhat more
secretive than its close relative, this may just be my own impression due to the difficulty of photographing them. One wonders how many are
overlooked in the UK, since the only accepted records here have been well photographed at close range, and the two species are very similar, especially
for those with no experience of both.
