EASTERN BAR-TAILED GODWIT Limosa (lapponica) baueri

Not especially different in appearence to other races of Bar-tailed Godwit, these birds occur in large numbers along the Eastern Asian flyway, and are the subject of much research since they winter in Australia and New Zealand. Perhaps partly as a result of this they have been mooted as a possible split, if this happens we'll have to start looking at Barwits in the UK a bit more closely.
