Japan's commonest gull, also breeding on coasts of Eastern Siberia and China. Rarely seen far from the Eastern Asian
seaboard. Not really migratory but dispersive in winter, occurring in Hong Kong, and there are one or two vagrant records
from the USA and Australia.
