ASIATIC DOWITCHER Limnodromus semipalmatus

A Siberian breeder, recently found to be much less rare than once thought, not only are its breeding areas remote, but also many of its wintering quarters, such as N.W.Australia and Sumatra. Many birders catch up with the species in Hong Kong, where this shot was taken of a breeding bird on spring migration. There is a small possibility of a European record, but the nearest so far is a record in Aden.
