Similar to many other Sterna terns, especially South American, this bird breeds on many islands
in the southern Atlantic & Indian oceans, and New Zealand Subantarctic. The fact that colonies do occur
on the Antarctic Peninsular makes terns one of only three families that
breed on every continent.
