WESTERN REEF HERON Egretta gularis

Closely related to the previous species, mainly found in Africa and the Middle East, it has often been considered a race of Little Egret. Apart from the thicker bill the dimorphism and habitat preferences would suggest a good species. Two phases are quite distinct, and whilst intermediates do occur they are relatively rarely encountered.
