The Tigrisoma Tiger-herons, of which there are three, are the only easily
observed Tiger-herons. Two others exist, in Africa and New Guinea, but are very rarely seen.
Beautifully marked, all three species occur in Central and Northern South America, this being probably the most abundant,
but less so in Central America, where Bare-throated predominates.
