MALAGASY SACRED IBIS Threskiornis bernieri

The only Sacred Ibis which looks somewhat different, the most striking feature is the pale-blue iris, although there are other differences. Also the most endangered, due to habitat loss on Madagascar, where it can still be seen in small numbers fairly easily. It was the first to be split from the complex, another race occurs on Aldabra Island, otherwise it is endemic.
