GLOSSY IBIS Plegadis falcinellus

The most widespread Ibis, common in many parts of the world, although replaced by White-faced Ibis in most of South America. Show a colourful iridescence in the right light, juveniles are duller. Recently recorded in increasing numbers in England, where it seems on the verge of colonising, indeed the right-hand bird is one of a pair that attempted to breed at Frampton in Lincolnshire.
