EURASIAN BITTERN Botaurus stellaris

Now familiar to most British birders due to conservation efforts, Eurasian Bitterns are in fact quite common on a worldwide basis, from Europe to Eastern Asia. All four Botaurus species have been considered conspecific in the past, but are now generally accepted as distinct.
