Another reasonably common Pacific Shearwater, but listed as Vulnerable since it breeds only on the
Poor Knights group of islands, off Northern New Zealand. A distinctive species with a prominent 'M' mark, it disperses over most of the Pacific with
records from Alaska to Chile, all around NZ, and the eastern Australian coast. Birds in fresh plumage are quite grey, but this becomes brownish as
the feathers wear, to me less attractive.
