BULLER'S SHEARWATER Ardenna bulleri

Another reasonably common Pacific Shearwater, but listed as Vulnerable since it breeds only on the Poor Knights group of islands, off Northern New Zealand. A distinctive species with a prominent 'M' mark, it disperses over most of the Pacific with records from Alaska to Chile, all around NZ, and the eastern Australian coast. Birds in fresh plumage are quite grey, but this becomes brownish as the feathers wear, to me less attractive.
