Another burrow nester, the least endangered of the genus, and probably the most widespread, breeding on southern coasts of Argentina and Chile, Tierra del Fuego and the Falklands/Malvinas. It is readily distinguished from others by the double breastband, although this feature is very occasionally found on both African and Humboldt penguins.
