The largest and probably most well-known penguin, but the hardest to see, breeding as it does on the Antarctic ice-shelf in colonies generally innaccesible except at vast cost. We are lucky to have seen a couple of juveniles in the Weddell Sea, which is sometimes possible at the right time of year. Naturally the photos aren't impressive.
