MADAGASCAR SNIPE Gallinago macrodactyla

Rarely seen nor photographed on the ground, probably due to hunting, this species flushes readily, although it is not particularly common. Tending to be found in marshy areas with tall vegetation, it is difficult to approach closely but flights are usually of long enough duration to pick out the long bill which gives it its scientific name.
