ICELAND GULL Larus glaucoides

A familiar bird in Britain as a winter visitor, but only breeds in Iceland very occasionally. Most birds seen in Britain are immatures and very variable, so there is always the possibility of a closely-related Kumlien's or even Thayer's being overlooked. The main breeding areas are Greenland and Baffin Island.
