ARMENIAN GULL Larus armenicus

Part of the Herring/Lesser Black-backed complex which has only recently had more attention from the taxonomists, this was the first "split", best known for wintering in Israel. It can also be seen in Eastern Turkey, but the easiest, and probably the cheapest way is visiting Armenia itself, where a trip to Lake Sevan will enable birds of all ages to be seen, although they're not uncommon in much of the country.
