WHITE STORK Ciconia alba

The common stork of the Western Palearctic and western Asia, although found in the UK only as an escape or a fairly regular overshoot. Migrates to southern Africa in the non-breeding season, usually in large flocks which are commonly seen at migration hotspots such as Gibraltar. Well known for nesting on rooftops, it is welcomed in many countries.
