JAVAN POND-HERON Ardeola speciosa

Breeding in Central Thailand, south IndoChina and Indonesia, it is mainly resident and fairly common, but its breeding areas are disjunct. Like Chinese Pond Heron, breeding adults are striking, whereas non-breeders and immatures are difficult to identify to species without close views.
