CAPE VERDE SHEARWATER Calonectris edwardsii

Endemic to the Cape Verde area but breeding on many islands in the group, a smaller more "shearwater-like" bird than Cory's. Not seeming to move far from the area, this may not be the case as it has only recently been considered a seperate species and non-breeding birds have been overlooked. Whilst often gregarious and attracted to trawlers for offal, none of this genus tends to follow ships.
