WILLET Catoptrophorus semipalmatus

PREVIOUS

A North American wader, the northern populations of which are strongly migratory, moving as far as N.Brazil. Long-awaited in Britain, the few European records have missed us so far. The photos are of the Western race taken in Oregon and California, the eastern race is much more boldly marked, unfortunately, in common with the striking black and white patterning of the wings, I have no photo.
