WANDERING TATTLER Tringa incanus

An Alaskan breeder migrating to the west coast of the Americas and islands of the Pacific, occasionally reaching New Zealand and Australia, where its close relative, Grey-tailed Tattler, is far commoner. Whilst the latter has reached Britain, Wandering Tattler is still unrecorded here, but there is a possibility of its turning up, since the breeding area is very close, and may extend to, E.Siberia. From there a reverse migration could bring it to Western Europe.
