A unique wader, both in its bill and its burrow-nesting habits, this
bird is found on Indian Island coasts, but due to migratory patterns is often difficult to track down. The easiest
place used to be Dubai, where these shots were taken, but access is becoming more difficult, and Oman is proving
a viable alternative.
