More sedentary in its habits than Gould's, but breeding on a larger number of
islands in the Pacific, from the Solomons to Fiji. It occurs in light, dark and intermediate forms, although the darkest birds
have recently been described as a seperate species. Several museum species, labelled as dark-phase Collared, are such birds (see
next taxon).
