One of the aforementioned cryptic "new" species, this bird is only a putative identification based on range, time of year, and the fact that the tail and rump pattern falls within the observed range. Many of the birds in question are all dark-rumped, most Leach's seem to have all white rumps with just a single central dark line. Whilst intermediates have always been termed Leach's, that obviously isn't the whole story.
