Found throughout the Southern Oceans, the largest wingspan of any bird, this form is the "original" from which all splits have originated. It breeds on islands from South Georgia to Macquarie, but all birds from the New Zealand area have been "split", and birds from Gough are thought to be hybrids, presumably Tristan/Wandering. |
